Your Wine Cooler Is Making Clicking Or Buzzing Noises
It is very convenient to have your good bottles at hand when you receive people. Wine cellars are becoming more and more part of our daily lives and have the advantage of being installed in our living rooms. No need to go to your wine store, supermarket or put on your boots to go down to the cellar to get a good bottle! However, it happens that your precious supply of good wines is sometimes noticed by a too high sound level. It should be noted that a muted and regular humming sound is an inherent part of compressor equipment.
THE CAUSES FOR THIS FAILURE :
-
Your cellar is not properly installed
-
The shelves are incorrectly positioned
-
Your bottles clash
-
The silent-block is defective
-
The water collection tank is not properly secured
-
My wine cellar makes high-pitched sounds
WARNING
Before working on your device, make sure to disconnect it from the power supply.
Risk of electric shock.
Wear suitable gloves if you disassemble
Risk of cuts.
Your cellar is not properly installed
Compliance with certain installation conditions can significantly reduce the noise level of your wine cabinet. First, make sure you install it in a suitable room such as a hallway, garage or kitchen. Be aware that the installation in a kitchen cabinet, for example, considerably reduces the noise generated by the appliance. In this case, it is essential to ensure that the air circulation under and behind the unit is not obstructed. Also check that your wine cellar is stable. If this is not the case, simply adjust the level by turning one or more adjustment feet under the cabinet. Finally, if the unit is leaning against a wall or in contact with other objects, it will produce more noise than normal. Moving it slightly should correct this phenomenon. If, despite these precautions, your wine cabinet starts to make a disturbing noise, several causes can cause the malfunction that we explain in this article.
The shelves are incorrectly positioned
The shelves are essential accessories for your wine cellar. They can be used to store, classify, store and present your bottles. However, it is important to ensure that you use models that are compatible with your wine cellar brand. They are designed to fit perfectly into your device. However, if one of them is not properly fitted or has some play, an unpleasant noise will appear. To remedy this, check the positioning of your shelves and if necessary, put a foam to hold them.

Your bottles clash
It is sometimes sufficient for one or more bottles to have an unevenness that generates vibrations. To solve this, it is normally sufficient to turn the bottles a quarter turn to improve the stability of their storage. In addition, when closing the door, make sure that the bottles do not touch the door of your appliance.
The compressor silent-block in the wine cellar is defective
A silent block is a part made of a flexible material (usually rubber) that absorbs shocks and vibrations between mechanical parts. It reduces noise pollution from compressor vibrations. In a wine cellar, it consists of 4 rubber blocks, located under the engine. If the noise emission from your wine cabinet is particularly high (presence of metal noises, rattling or jingling), the compressor may have slipped off its rubber brackets causing the cooling fins to ring on the back of the cabinet or other metal parts. This happens most often when the device is moved (delivery, moving). This can be easily rectified by repositioning the compressor in the center of the rubber mounts and at the same time ensuring that it is not in direct contact with fixed parts.
The water collection tank is not properly attached to the engine (compressor)
To maintain a constant hygrometry, your wine cellar is probably equipped with a condensate recovery system. Indeed, the condensation droplets resulting from the operation of the device will eventually fall to the bottom of the wine cabinet. They will be evacuated through a small pipe to a tank located outside the cabinet: the water collection tank located on the compressor. On some models, the latter generating heat, the water thus recovered will evaporate and be reinjected into the cabinet to recreate humidity. However, if the tank is not properly attached to this compressor, it can cause sound vibrations. It is therefore necessary to check that the tray is securely fixed and to reposition it.
My wine cellar makes high-pitched sounds
When your unit produces characteristic sounds of unpleasant friction, rattling or vibration, it may be due to a loose or faulty fan. The fan can be replaced to fix the problem.
