The carbon filter must be replaced
A wine storage or temperature-controlled cellar offers your bottles optimal storage conditions by protecting them from external fluctuations in temperature and humidity. Nevertheless, unwanted molecules or bacteria can enter the cellar through the ventilation system. So, the presence of carbon filters is essential to ensure healthy odourless air in the device. These filters become saturated over time. As a result, the humidity level of the cellar can be disturbed and lead to excess condensation. That is why it is necessary to replace them once a year to protect your wine. Happily, this filter is positioned in the ventilation hole of the cellar and can be easily replaced by following the wine cabinet’s instruction guide, or the tutorial below.

The ventilation grille is obstructed
To ensure the proper functioning of a wine cellar, a complete maintenance check must be carried out once a year. After removing the stored wine bottles and unplugging the device, dust and rinse the ventilation grille(s) which are often located on the front of the storage cellar. Do not forget to also dust the condenser grate (similar to that of a refrigerator). Complete this spring cleaning with the internal and external walls, door gasket/seal and shelves before putting your wine bottles back inside.
The door no longer closes properly
The door of the wine cellar ensures a good seal and thus protects your precious bottles from temperature and humidity shifts. A sealing defect will cause the compressor to run continuously, which can lead to leaking liquid. It is the rubber seal that keeps a cellar well airtight. Start by inspecting the door seal. If this door seal is dirty or has traces of mould, clean it with a little white vinegar. On the other hand, if this seal is torn or cracked, it will be essential to replace it.
