WARNING
Before handling your machine, make sure you disconnect it from the power supply to avoid any risk of electric shock.
Wear suitable protective gloves if you need to dismantle anything to avoid any
risk of getting cut or injured.
There is a problem with the water supply
If the device is having problems filling, it may be from a water tap that doesn't turn on properly or a solenoid valve that has a faulty coil!
The wrong wash programme has been selected
Some washing machines have one or more special programmes that stop during the programme, like the programme for wool for example. Check the programme you're using. The solenoid valve isn't working
The solenoid valve is not working correctly
The solenoid valve turns the water on and off electrically, and if one of the coils is defective, it may cause the programme to get stuck and continue running.
Buy a washing machine solenoid
The heating element is faulty
If the heating element is faulty, the current programme may run without stopping because the appliance will not heat up.
The water is being pumped out automatically
If the drain hose is inserted too far into the stand pipe, or the stand pipe is too low, the water may drain away just as it is filling up and your machine will keep running the refilling cycle.
The drain filter is blocked by something
If your drain filter is blocked, the appliance will have trouble draining the water. Sometimes, this can make the current programme get stuck and extend the washing time.
Buy a washine machine drain filter
The drain pump is blocked
If the drain pump is blocked or defective, the machine won't drain the water and this could cause the current washing programme to get stuck and keep the washing machine running.
Buy a washing machine drain pump
Too much powder has been used
If you have added too much powder, (especially if you've got a water softener), the appliance will produce too much foam which might stop the machine from draining properly and can even lead to a malfunction like the machine running continuously by launching additional rinse cycles.
The drain hose is bent, kinked or blocked
If your drain hose is bent, kinked or blocked, your appliance won't drain properly which could mean your machine stays on the same cycle or it lasts longer.
Buy a washing machine drain hose
The motor is no longer working
If the motor is defective the appliance might seem like it has stopped with the drum not turning. The appliance may also throw up an error code and get stuck on the washing cycle from the start.
The wiring or cabling is damaged
Once you've checked for the previous issues, we advise you to check the wiring. The electric wiring and cables power the heating element, the sensor, the motor, the drain pump, etc. Sometimes over time, the wiring can get damaged or worn out and no longer supplies power properly to the appliance's various components. That can cause the machine to stop totally or repeatedly or, on the contrary, it may extend the cycle. As such, you should check the various wires and cables to see whether one of them isn't severed, especially near the connectors.
The door lock is faulty
If the door lock is defective or its connector is damaged, it can cause one or more stops during the cycle.
The main circuit board (PCB) is defective
Unfortunately, after all these checks, if the issue is still there, it could be because the main circuit board (PCB) is causing the problem.
