Thermostat for BOSCH / SIEMENS / SMEG ovens, cookers
In order for your oven to reach just the right temperature to cook your food, a certain process has to take place. Located directly behind the control knob, the purpose of the thermostat is to regulate the temperature. Equipped with a thermocouple sensor (the tiny metal cone that you can see at the bottom of the machine), it will detect the current temperature of the appliance and will then notify the motherboard.
If the temperature recorded by the thermostat is too low, the heating elements start up. If, on the other hand, the temperature is already too high, the heating elements switch off.
The following issues indicate that your thermostat may be faulty:
Your appliance doesn't heat up like it usually does
The appliance continues to heat up
The appliance stops working for no reason
The appliance no longer switches on at all
The self-clean function on the oven no longer works
The oven won't heat up
The fan continues operating when the oven is no longer being used
You have now seen the problems that are often caused by your appliance's thermostat! If you notice any of these issues and, having tested your appliance, you realise that your thermostat is defective, then you will have to replace it
