Tank (without cap) for DELONGHI steam irons
The water tank enables the appliance to store water. It is generally preferable to fill the tank with demineralised water. This part is essential to your system: it will supply water to a heater, which in turn makes the iron work.
Often detachable, the tank provides unlimited autonomy when ironing, as it can be re-filled during use (without having to switch off the steam iron). Its role is thus to store the water until such a time as it is pumped and converted into steam!
The tank may rust, leak or even break down. If this is the case, it will need to be replaced.
If water leaks from the tank, it will undoubtedly have a breakage or hole in it. You can check this by detaching the part if it can be disconnected, or inspect the part directly at the ironing system.
If the leak is the result of damage to the tank, replace this component.
Note: water can also leak from the tank because it is overfilled. Generally speaking, a maximum level indicator will allow you to verify this. If the quantity of water inside the tank exceeds this threshold, empty some of the water!
