My soup maker no longer turns on, what should I do?
Is your soup machine being elusive when it comes to starting up? Fear not! We’ve got a few tricks up our sleeves to unravel this electrical mystery …
POTENTIAL CAUSES OF THIS FAULT:
WARNING
Before carrying out any work on your appliance, be absolutely sure that you first completely disconnect it from the mains electricity supply.
Risk of electric shock.
Wear protective gloves if you need to disassemble the appliance.
Risk of cuts and abrasions.
Checking the connection
First, make sure your device is plugged in properly. If it doesn’t, it goes without saying it won’t turn on. Also, check your electrical outlet by plugging in another appliance. If this one turns on, your soup machine could have a more serious problem. Check out the rest of this article to troubleshoot further.

Problems with the thermal fuse
If your machine still won’t turn on, the issue may be the thermal fuse. This small wire allows the current to pass through, but it cuts off when the machine’s temperature limit is reached. Test it with a multimeter calibrated to the ohmmeter position. You’re looking for a value of 0.1 ohms. If the fuse is defective, replace it.

The circuit board is damaged
Inspect the circuit board visually. Look for damaged, melted components or marks on the Power Control Board (PCB). If your power cord and thermal fuse are in good condition, you may need to replace the power board.

The control board is defective
As a last resort, examine the control board. Although rare, replace it if you notice problems with the ‘pimples’, those raised metallic bumps on the circuit board. Disassemble the top, unplug the display board from the power board, unscrew a few screws, and that’s it. An easy fix.
