The Washing Machine’s Program Selector No Longer Works
Having trouble communicating with your washing machine? Whether the program selector is spinning aimlessly or the touch-sensitive controls are unresponsive, we’ve got you covered. Let’s quickly pinpoint the issue and get your machine back in action.
WHAT’S CAUSING THIS PROBLEM?
WARNING
Before you do anything to your appliance, make sure you disconnect it from the power supply.
There is a risk of electric shock.
A bug in the electronics
Occasionally, an internal bug in the electronic board crashes the system. The best way to fix this issue is to perform a reset. To do this, simply unplug the device for 30 minutes, plug it back in, and then try to program a cycle.
Demo mode is enabled
On many devices, manufacturers have added a demo mode. Sometimes, when cleaning the control panel, you can activate this ‘demo’ mode without realizing it. In this case, we invite you to consult the device’s manual to find out how to deactivate it.
Child lock is enabled
Some devices also have a child lock option. This allows you to block and deactivate the use of the buttons on the control panel to prevent curious hands causing chaos! This activation key is usually indicated by a key or a child’s face on the touchscreen. As before, refer to the washing machine’s operating manual to disable this option.
An anomaly with the keys or control knob
Buttons or a control knob/dial may become unresponsive if the control board has moved, or the plastic cover is broken. If this happens, it will be necessary to disassemble the control panel to check it and replace, if necessary, the damaged part.

The display card is defective
The electronic display board, or touchscreen, incorporates micro-switches for you to select an option or a program. If all the checks have been done and the issue persists, it is likely that this display module is the one responsible for the failure.
