Your Oven Is Making Condensation Inside The Door
When you cook food in your oven, it's normal for steam to be produced and a little moisture to build up on the surfaces of the door. This phenomenon, referred to as condensation, is caused by the water contained in the foods cooked in the top part of the oven evaporating and ending up on the window of the lower part, which will still be at a cold temperature. If the amount of condensation inside the oven is excessive, this means there is humid air trapped in the interior. This phenomenon can have any of several different causes:
THE POTENTIAL CAUSES FOR THIS ISSUE:
-
A difference in temperature
-
A window seal fault
-
The tangential fan has stopped working
-
Cooking certain types of vegetables
WARNING
Before you do anything to your appliance, make sure you disconnect it from the power supply.
There is a risk of electric shock.
Wear suitable protective gloves if you need to dismantle anything.
There is a risk of getting cut or injured
A difference in temperature between the oven and the environment in which it's located
If the environment in which your oven is located is too cold, the difference in temperature ebetween the oven interior and the external window panel, which is in contact with the cool air in the room, will increase the amount of condensation produced inside the appliance. To keep this problem to a minimum, it's best to have the temperature of the room where you use your oven at 19°C !
A fault with the internal window seal
The purpose of the internal window seal is to keep your oven airtight. If the seal isn't working properly, the heat inside the oven will not be kept inside and steam will be able to escape into the space between the window panels. Does the seal look worn or in bad condition? Then it will need to be replaced.
The tangential fan has stopped working
The purpose of the tangential fan is to cool both the oven and the oven window and to evacuate the vapours from the appliance (usually from the front) to avoid them building up on the internal surfaces. If the tangential fan isn't working for some reason, the moisture will remain inside the oven and work its way between the window panels, and will even build up on the electronic circuits, eventually causing them to develop faults over the long term.
Cooking certain types of vegetables
Be careful when cooking vegetables that contain large amounts of water (tomatoes for example), as this produces a huge amount of condensation. We advise you to use a closed dish with a lid if you want to avoid this happening.
More and more models of ovens these days are equipped with easily removable internal window panels to enable you to thoroughly clean the space between the front and rear panels.
