POTENTIAL CAUSES OF THIS FAULT:
-
The soleplate is dirty
-
The iron is scaled
-
The iron temperature is set incorrectly
-
The fabric has been over-starched
The soleplate is dirty
Over time and with each use, the soleplate of your iron, i.e. the heated coating that comes into direct contact with the fabric, may become dirty. Deposits accumulated in the iron's cells may stain the fabric when ironing. In addition, dirt can snag the fabric and prevent the iron from gliding properly. It is important to regularly clean the soleplate of your iron. To clean, use a sponge that has been soaked in soapy water and thoroughly wrung out (iron cold!). You can also use a mixture of vinegar water and fine salt. Always unplug the appliance from the wall outlet and wait until it is lukewarm before performing any work on it..
To remove a mark left by your iron on your clothes, soak the stain with a thin layer of Marseille soap. Allow to dry before rinsing with clean water. In thecase of a stubborn stain, you can dab the fabric with a little white vinegar or 70° alcohol.
The iron is scaled
Lime deposits can cause yellow streaks, which are particularly visible on white fabrics. Use demineralised water to fill your steam system. To descale your iron, you can use white vinegar or special iron descaler.

The iron temperature is set incorrectly
The resistor of the steam unit allows you to heat the water in your'appliance's tank. However, over time, it can lose its electrical properties or may no longer respond. The thermal safety mechanism consists of a klixon cut off switch, which opens or closes the circuit that powers the heating element. This is an important safety component, but is also a means by which to control the temperature. If your heating element or thermal safety mechanism has broken, you will most likely have to replace the heating element.

The fabric has been over-starched
Fabrics that are too stiff (excess starch) tend to leave burn marks more easily. To remove a starch stain, soak the affected area in lukewarm vinegar water.
