Your Dishwasher Will Not Drain All The Water Out
A dishwater that no longer empties the water out is one of the most common problems encountered. If you are experiencing this, and even though the situation is far from pleasant, stay calm and don't panic: we're going to help you find the source of the fault.
THE POSSIBLE CAUSES FOR THIS FAULT:
-
The dishwasher is not properly plumbed in
-
The drain filter is clogged
-
The drain pump is blocked
-
The solenoid valve has failed
-
The electric wires are worn or damaged
WARNING
Before you do anything to your appliance, make sure you disconnect it from the power supply.
There is a risk of electric shock.
The dishwasher is not properly plumbed in
The dishwasher must be installed properly; the waste hose must not be lengthened or too high. If this is not the case, the pump, which is not very powerful, will not be able to push the water for a sufficiently long distance. We recommend you ensure that the waste hose is not bent or pinched, otherwise the appliance will not drain properly. Important: if you have connected the waste hose to the sink waste, you will need to check that the connection hole is actually open as there may initially be a seal in place.
The drain filter is clogged
If the drain filters are dirty, your dishwasher will struggle to drain the water away. There are normally two or three filters on each appliance. The main filter should be cleaned after each wash cycle, and the finest one once per week.

The drain pump is blocked
The drain pump serves to evacuate the water from your dishwasher. It can be blocked by pips/seeds or pieces of glass, for example, or become defective. If this is the case, the dishwasher will not drain. You can check the drain pump yourself; it can be found behind the access cover on the underside of the appliance. The cover may be sharp, so be careful not to injure your fingers. You can dismantle and clean this component yourself. If the pump is defective, you will need to replace it.
The solenoid valve has failed

The solenoid valve functions as an electric tap. If it fails to close properly, it may allow water to pass through. Where this is the case, you will find water still present at the end of the cycle.

The electric wires are worn or damaged
All the functional parts of your dishwasher are linked together by electric wires. These can degrade due to heat from the electric current; due to mechanical causes if they get folded, bent or cut; or as a result of a water leak. If this is the case, your appliance will fail to drain. With older generation dishwashers, these wires most often end up getting cut at the door hinge. If you need to replace them, be careful when removing them as dishwasher doors can very easily cause cuts.
