The convection function of the oven no longer works, how can I fix it?
The fan function is your preferred cooking method to prevent food burning. But recently, your oven or stove no longer heats up properly when you select this program. This article explains what parts to check in order to repair this fan heating failure and restore 100% functionality back to your cooking appliance.
WHAT’S THE PROBLEM?
-
Faulty fan
-
Circular resistor no longer works
-
Broken thermostat or probe
-
Poor-wiring-condition
-
Malfunction of the electronic board
WARNING
Before carrying out any work on your appliance, be absolutely sure that you first completely disconnect it from the mains electricity supply.
Risk of electric shock.
Wear protective gloves if you need to disassemble the appliance.
Risk of cuts and abrasions.

Broken circular resistor
The circular heating element is the essential heating element of the convection program. It usually has a value between 20 and 40 Ohms. If you can’t find a value on the fan heater, it’s probably cut off and needs to be replaced.

The thermostat or probe is out of order
The control thermostat or the oven temperature probe are elements that can be used to regulate the heat. Depending on your model, you’ll get one or the other. If the card gives the wrong information or the element isn’t connected properly, the oven may not heat up.

The wiring is in poor condition
To ensure the proper functioning of your oven programming, all the oven’s components must communicate with each other. For this purpose, its parts are connected to each other by cables. Over time, the wiring can deteriorate, cut out, or simply disconnect. This will have the effect of cutting off all communication. Check (unplugged) that all cables and components are properly connected to each other and that everything is sufficiently tight. If not, readjust the wiring or replace the wire.
A malfunction of the electronic board
The electronic board/card is the main element of your device. This is because it is what safely distributes the voltage of your household appliance. Be careful, though! Do not call this part into question until you have carried out all the previous checks as it is often an expensive spare part. If, after all checks have been made, your cooking appliance still does not heat up in fan mode, it is likely that the power board is faulty.
