RISK OF ELECTRIC SHOCK.

RISK OF CUTS AND ABRASIONS.
A filter problem
There are normally two types of filters in air conditioners:
- Mechanical filters (also referred to as electrostatic filters). These filter out the impurities contained in the air (such as dust and other small particles).
- Active carbon filters, which work by trapping bad smells.
If your air conditioner is no longer preventing bad smells from escaping, you will therefore need to replace the carbon filter. To do this, first disconnect the appliance from the mains. Then remove the covers located on the unit (there will be some screws to remove). Find where the carbon filter is located then remove it and fit the new filter. If you notice a significant amount of dust on the mechanical filters, you can remove this using a vacuum cleaner then clean them with soapy water.
For your air conditioner to work properly, you need to keep its filters clean and maintained. Mechanical filters (which remove particles from the air) need to be cleaned once every two weeks, and carbon filters (which prevent bad smells) need to be changed at least once a year.

The condensate tank is clogged
Air conditioners are fitted with condensate tanks (also referred to as water collection tanks). These also need to be emptied regularly to avoid them overflowing. Stagnant water in the water collection tank can be a cause of bad smells. To prevent this issue, check your condensate tank for dirt build up and clean if necessary.
The air isn't circulating properly in the circuit
When it comes to cleaning the entire air circuit, vone option is to use a special spray designed specifically for the purpose: simply spray it on the evaporator, impeller, fan, etc.
